Valid Profiles

Hogan assessments can be used for helping individuals to develop in their professional environment, in the selection process for applicants, and for the optimum staffing of employees. In case of selection and staffing, candidates are tested against a position’s requirements. There are two choices.

1. You can make use of the existing profiles that Hogan’s research department has provided for use in various companies.

We offer four different reports to do so:

  1. The High Potential Report uses the HPI, HDS and MVPI to compare candidates with successful executive staff all over the world
  2. The Express Report Series uses the HPI to compare candidates with the requirements in seven different professional groups.
  3. Advantage predicts the employability of younger applicants in particular.
  4. The Safety Report predicts the tendency towards careless behaviour in the workplace of blue collar employees in particular.

2. Or you can draw up a profile of requirements with the characteristics that are required for a specific position within your company. You then test your employees and the applicants against this profile, and it provides you with a validated, accurate statement on their suitability and development opportunities.

We offer two different reports to do so:

  1. The FIT Report provides information on a candidate’s specific suitability.
  2. The BASIS Report makes detailed statements on a candidate’s suitability and provides further information on the hiring decision, such as interview questions.

Which of the two alternatives is suitable is determined by:

  • the volume (number of applicants for the selection process, now and in the years to come),
  • the added value (the role played by the position in securing the company's success), and
  • the legal risk of a non-validated profile of requirements.

The more weight these three criteria carry, the more accurate the selection process can and should be, and thus the more advisable it would be for you to choose alternative 2. A selection is the most accurate if the profile of requirements was prepared specifically within the company, and if it can safely be expected to predict performance, i.e. if it is valid.
